Start cutting the cake! It is International Plain Language Day.
I am celebrating by learning at the Access for All conference in Washington (well, from my sitting room in Ireland actually).
It is great to read the list of participants in the online town hall wall. Some of the best in plain English and plain legal language circles are here, so it is going to be a very exciting conference today and for the next few days.
The conference celebrates plain language learning and the 10th anniversary of Obama signing the Plain Writing Act into law in the US (2010).
It also promises to give us an update on the evolving ISO standards for plain language. I am genuinely excited. I will write a full note on some conference highlights in the coming days!
Meanwhile, what are you doing to celebrate clear communication? Think about it! Study our free plain English resources for one and enjoy!
